I am a fan of Oshii&#039;s work and this is despite that his movies often do lull me to sleep. It&#039;s just that after I go back and watch again I do find his movies to be very satisfying. I think a big problem is that I&#039;ve made a diet of Hollywood style storytelling where things are often moving forward. Oshii definitely takes his time (an understatement) but I really appreciate that whatever he is trying to say is worth my patience. The Sky Crawlers is a very languid story, but the emotional impact of the ending made it all very much worth. Also, his movies work best on the big screen. Unfortunately, I&#039;ve had that luxury only once and don&#039;t know if I&#039;ll have it again.</description>
