It's just that after I go back and watch again I do find his movies to be very satisfying. Oshii definitely takes his time (an understatement) but I really appreciate that whatever he is trying to say is worth my patience. The Sky Crawlers is a very languid story, but the emotional impact of the ending made it all very much worth. Also, his movies work best on the big screen.
